“Follow road rules to prevent accidents”

SAFETY RULES: A skit on road safety being performed by employees of Golden Rock Railway workshop.
TIRUCHI: The need to follow road rules was underscored by speakers at the valedictory function of Road Safety Week held at the Golden Rock Railway Workshop here recently.
Chief Workshop Manager S. Rangarajan said it was imperative on the part of road-users to strictly adhere to road rules which would go a long way in reducing accidents. He said motorists show more respect towards pedestrians in developed countries.
Deputy Chief Material Manager M.S. Anbalagan said violation of road rules and improper maintenance of vehicle would lead to accidents. The vehicle-users should resort to safe and disciplined driving, he said.
Motor Vehicle Inspector V. Jaya Gowri explained the efforts made by the State Government in sensitising the road users to accident prevention. She also listed measures to be adopted for safe driving. The workshop employees performed a skit on the theme “road safety” on the occasion.
