Security guard released on bail

Kottayam: Kumarakom police on Thursday released on bail the security guard who was taken into custody for alleged misbehaviour with two minor Canadian tourists at Kumarakom on Wednesday.

Shyju Varghese (27) allegedly misbehaved with the girls when they went to the billiards room. The incident was reported to the police by the children’s parents and the guard was immediately taken into custody.

The police had filed a case under the Section 354 of the IPC. The Canadian family has since left Kumarakom.
