Australia retains team

Canberra: The Australian selectors have named an unchanged squad of 12 for the third cricket Test against India after the side retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a 122-run win in Sydney.

Fast bowler Shaun Tait is tipped to play at Perth on a wicket that has had pace and carry this domestic season.

Australia may field four quicks in the third Test. Left-arm spinner Brad Hogg is set to face a Code of Conduct hearing on Monday. Hogg is also struggling with a finger injury.

Opener Matthew Hayden injured his hamstring in Sydney, and will be monitored in the lead-up to Perth.

Chris Rogers, currently here playing against the touring Indians, and David Hussey, brother of Michael, could come into contention.

The squad: Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist, Stuart Clark, Michael Clarke, Matthew Hayden, Brad Hogg, Michael Hussey, Phil Jaques, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Andrew Symonds, Shaun Tait. — Special Correspondent
