KOZHIKODE: The State Committee of the Malabar Temple Employees Association has welcomed the Malabar Devaswom Board Ordinance, in principle. In a statement on Friday, the association pointed out that the ordinance, however, did not include the clause that temple employees and others ought to be members of the board. The association opined that an important clause in the ordinance was that temple employees, executive officers, and trustees would continue as it now existed. The association welcomed the proposal of the Devaswom Minister to increase the number of members in the Devaswom to nine, from the present five.
