Release loans for beneficiaries, bankers told

Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: District Collector B. Kishore has asked bankers to release loans to beneficiaries for grounding units sanctioned under ‘Pasu Kranthi’ scheme. Addressing bankers on Thursday evening, Dr. Kishore said out of 4,000 units sanctioned for the district only 193 units were grounded so far.

Stating that the district lagged behind other districts in implementing the scheme, he asked bankers and mandal development officers concerned to conduct grama sabhas, identify beneficiaries and issue sanctions between Jan. 17 and 20. If SC/ST beneficiaries were unavailable, BCs could be chosen for the scheme, he added.

With regard to 4,620 applications received under ‘Indiramma’ urban housing programme, Dr. Kishore asked bankers to complete documentation work early. Lead Bank Manager Satyanarayana, AGM of SBI Ram Prasad, GM of APGVB Gangadhar Rao and others were present.
