Four suspended

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Collector V. Chandrasekaran has ordered the suspension of salesmen of three ration shops and a Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC) bill clerk for smuggling 300bags of rice.

Officials found that rice meant to be supplied for three shops at Kanchampatti, Nalli and Nathathupatti on Thursday was being smuggled. The Collector also ordered criminal action against the salesmen, Veeravel, Palaniselvam and Nagarajan, the lorry owner and the driver.

The TNCSC bill clerk, Kennedy, was also placed under suspension.
