Show-cause notice to 56 doctors

Staff Reporter

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister for Health P.K. Sreemathy has directed that show cause notice be issued to 56 doctors who have been on ‘unauthorised absence’ from Medical Colleges.

Notice will be issued to these doctors giving them a deadline to join back in Medical Education Service. Those who choose not to re-join the service will be dismissed after seeking concurrence from the Public Service Commission.

About 171 doctors from Medical Colleges who were on unauthorised absence had been earlier dismissed from service. Apart from doctors in the Medical Education department, 224 doctors from the Health Services too had been dismissed for unauthorised absence.
