‘Recover alienated land’

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy on Friday asked Revenue Minister K.P. Rajendran to begin his plan of action to recover government land by taking over sectors in Kuttanad that were in the hands of a cooperative society controlled by the CPI(M).

Mr. Chandy wanted to know whether the Minister would begin his work by taking over the area known as “Murikkan’s land” in R Block of Kuttanad. The government had taken over excess land for distribution among 217 farm workers, but the land found its way into the hands of the cooperative society controlled by the CPI(M).
