Jeweller’s son kidnapped

JAIPUR: A local jeweller’s son on his way back from school was kidnapped right outside his residence in Mahavir Nagar colony of the Rajasthan capital on Friday afternoon.

The victim, a Class VI student of Neerja Modi Public School in the Mansarovar area, was reportedly whisked away by his abductor in a white Maruti car. The authorities at the Bajaj Nagar police station, where a case of abduction has been registered, said the incident took place after the auto-rickshaw in which he goes to school regularly dropped the boy, Mihir Jain, back outside the gates of his residence. Mihir is the son of jeweller Rajesh Jain.

Police sources denied that the family had received any ransom call while a search was under way for the victim and the kidnapper.
