Governor unveils Dhumal’s agenda

“All departments directed to open grievance redressal cells in rural areas”

Dharamsala (H.P.): The BJP Government in Himachal Pradesh on Friday promised to take administration to the doorsteps of the common man for faster delivery of justice.

“Administration will be taken to the doorsteps of the common man to provide justice to people faster,” Governor V. S. Kokje said in his address to the House on the opening day of the new Vidhan Sabha’s inaugural session here.

Officials will go to “janata ke dwar” (peoples door) to listen to their grievances and solve them on the spot, Mr. Kokje said in his speech unveiling the Government’s programmes for the development of the State.

Government departments have been directed to open grievance redressal cells at local levels so that people, particularly in the rural areas, need not run to cities for want of justice, he said.

The State Government has plans to impart vocational training to the unemployed youth so that they could avail of the employment opportunities in the hydel, tourism and industrial sectors, he said.

He also talked about the plans to promote religious tourism and end state’s control over temple management. The Government proposed to request the Centre to extend tax holiday for industries from 2010 to 2013 to encourage industries in the State. Promising all help to farmers, he said there would be unhindered supply of seeds, fertilisers and chemicals besides measures to check the menace of wild animals. PTI
