Staff Reporter

KARUR: Police picked up 32 Hindu Munnani volunteers when they attempted to stage a protest demonstration here late on Friday evening. They were protesting the permission given to an Evangelical meeting.

The Hindu Munnani volunteers alleged that the meeting was to be addressed by persons from England who had exceeded their stay and were indulging in religious conversion.

A group of Hindu Munnani volunteers led by district president, A.M. Senthilkumar and secretary, S. Raja attempted to stage the demonstration when the police intervened.
