Meeting of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna held Proposals worth Rs. 2,173.60 lakh cleared CHANDIGARH: The first meeting of the State level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) held here on Thursday under the chairpersonship of Haryana Chief Secretary Promilla Issar approved proposals worth Rs.2,173.60 lakh for rejuvenation of agriculture and allied sectors during the current year. While thanking the Union Government for launching the new scheme, Ms. Issar directed Haryana Agriculture Department officials to harness the opportunity to the maximum extent to revamp the agriculture sector and achieve the targeted growth rate of four per cent in the farm sector. Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Agriculture) Raj Kumar disclosed that the Centre had launched RKVY to give incentive to the States to invest more in agriculture and allied sectors. He disclosed that farm mechanisation had tremendous scope in Haryana and a project was approved for promoting reaper binders. Agriculture Director Sumita Misra said that restoring soil health was a major priority of the State Government. Soil testing labs would be upgraded for testing of micronutrients in the soil, she added. The Chief Secretary suggested that a coordination committee involving all the stakeholders be constituted under the chairmanship of the Agriculture Director to review the planning and implementation of RKVY.
