Kerala: land acquisition to be accelerated

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government would accelerate acquisition of land for development of National Highways for four-lane traffic, Public Works Minister Mons Joseph said here on Friday.

Mr. Joseph told a news conference that Special Officers would be appointed soon to speed up land acquisition as sought by the National Highway Authority of India. A meeting of NHAI and PWD officials would be convened here next month to discuss the highway development projects. The government would submit to the Centre revised estimates for the project. The work could be completed in three to four years once land is acquired, he said.
