M.P. Govt. staff to get more DA

BHOPAL: Offering several sops to its employees keeping in mind Assembly polls due later this year in Madhya Pradesh, the State government on Friday decided to raise their dearness allowance by 9 per cent so as to bring at level with that being given to Central government employees.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Finance Minister Raghavji told reporters.

The DA would be raised in two stages so that the difference between that paid to Central government employees and State government employees would be ended in August, he said.

The process followed for raising the allowance will be detailed in the next budget, he said.

Simplified

Simplifying the process of compassionate appointments, the government has decided to allow the applicants interested in the posts of teachers to approach the collector directly with their applications, he said.

The government also decided to ignore break in service of daily-wages workers from 2001 to 2004, while considering their regularisation, he said, adding government had ordered discontinuation of services of daily-wages workers in 2001 and had withdrawn the decision in 2004. - PTI
