Roster point reduced for disabled people

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Government of Karnataka, has issued a Government Order of January 4 reducing the roster points for recruitment of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the various categories to the 4th point from the 19th point in the circle of 1 to 20 points.

The office of the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities had taken up this issue with the department so that by bringing down the roster points from 19, people with disabilities would stand a chance to get employment in the Government at the earliest.

The office of the Commissioner, in a press release, has said that the Government notification of November 5, 2007 has modified rule No.13 of the Karnataka Civil Service (General recruitment )Rules 1977 and has exempted the Persons with Disabilities from payment of application fee.
