Car dealer flooded with calls

Staff Reporter

Kozhikode: Tata Nano, the Rs. 1-lakh car unveiled in New Delhi on Thursday, has created excitement among people here, as elsewhere.

Telephones kept ringing at the Tata Motors car dealership on Thursday and Friday, with people asking if the car can be booked now. The car is expected at the showroom only by August.

Nearly 70 people called up on the two days. Most calls came on Friday. The showroom staff is noting down the name, address and telephone numbers of the callers, promising them to call when the car arrives. People had been calling up occasionally ever since Tata’s developing the world’s cheapest car hit the headlines. The car market trends in Kozhikode shows demand for spacious, safe and fuel-efficient cars.

Looks of the vehicle are also important for car buyers in the district.
