Power supply affected for hours

NEW DELHI: Power supply to several parts of West Delhi, South Delhi and South-West Delhi was affected on Friday due to tripping of power lines. Power cuts in the affected areas lasted two to five hours.

Power Department officials said the tripping was caused by heavy fog. “There was a thick blanket of fog in the morning that caused the lines to trip and the substation at Bamnauli was also out of order. We had to resort to load-shedding,” said a senior Power Department official.
