TRS legislator files appeal against High Court order Land reportedly comes under Wakf Board, Dargah
New Delhi: The Supreme Court dismissed a petition challenging the Andhra Pradesh High Court order allowing a construction company to go ahead with its project of developing a satellite township on over 100 acres land on the outskirts of Hyderabad, on Friday.
A Bench headed by H.K. Sema declined to interfere with the interim order of the High Court allowing Lanco Hills Technology Park Private Limited to go ahead with their ambitious project, which also includes a 110-storeyed residential tower at Manikonda village.
Telengana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) MLC S.A. Rahman had filed an appeal against the October 26 order of the Division Bench of the High Court.
The Division Bench had vacated the order of the single Bench, which had stayed the construction work.
Rahman had contended that the land was part of 1,600 acres vested with the Wakf Board belonging to Dargah Hazrat Hussain Shahwali.
The project includes residential towers, christened as Signature and IT special economic zone, which will have facility to host 75,000 technology employees with a built-up space of 5.5 million sq. ft. and another 2.5 million sq.ft. in the non-SEZ area for IT companies. PTI
