First batch of Haj pilgrims arrives

CHENNAI: The first batch of 440 pilgrims from Tamil Nadu, including an infant, arrived here on Friday after a successful Haj pilgrimage.

They were received by Minister for Environment and Wakf T.P. M.Mohiden Khan, Tamil Nadu State Hajj Committee chairman J.M. Haroon and K. Allaudin, Member-Executive Officer of the committee.

Other pilgrims will return in eight more flights, scheduled to land in Chennai Airport between January 12 and 17, according to a Committee press release.
