AIADMK MLA moves High Court
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: An AIADMK MLA, suspended from the Assembly for 10 sittings on a charge that he had hurled the hat of a watch and ward staff at the Speaker, has moved the Madras High Court challenging the Assembly resolution.
A.K. Bose, who represents the Tirupparankundram constituency in the Assembly, submitted that he had been suspended from the Assembly with effect from October 19, 2007, and that he had been disentitled from all benefits, privileges and salary. Noting that the next session was likely to be convened from January 23, 2008, he sought a stay on the resolution to enable him to attend the Assembly. Justice V. Dhanapalan adjourned the matter to January 21.
