Disclosure of CBI report put on hold

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: The disclosure of the CBI findings on the death of Rizwanur Rahman, submitted to the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday, has been put on hold for another five weeks.

The hearing on the State government’s application seeking extension of time for filing its affidavit and on circulation of the report of the CBI will be taken up on February 20, Justice Dipankar Dutta said on Friday.

Petitions opposed

Counsel for Rahman’s family, Kalyan Banerjee, opposed the petitions filed by eight respondents.

He earlier prayed for withholding the circulation of the CBI report until after affidavits were filed by the respondents.
