Court orders issue of contempt notice

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: The Calcutta High Court on Friday ordered that contempt notices be issued to Communist Party of India (Marxist) leaders Biman Bose, Shyamal Chakravarty and Binoy Konar for their alleged derogatory comments on its observation that the March 14, 2007 Nandigram police firing was unjustified and unconstitutional.

A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice S. S. Nijjar and Justice P. C. Ghose, directed the Registrar-General to serve the notice on the leaders.
