Attentive audience: AIEEE aspirants at the discussion session in Puducherry on Saturday. PUDUCHERRY: A discussion session about AIEEE, conducted by The Hindu Education Plus and AIMS Education, at Petit Seminaire Higher Secondary School for 270 students and 75 parents was an eye opener for many. The audience was informed of many things related to the exam, including the quota of 20 seats reserved for the Union Territory, list of participating institutions, exam pattern, negative marking, and the use of ball point pens to mark the answers in the entrance exam, which is slated for April 27. The hall tickets for the all-India entrance exam would be given by the end of February. Centres in Tamil Nadu would be Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore and Puducherry, said S. Parthipan, coordinator of AIMS Education. Students were also given keys to model questions in physics, chemistry and mathematics, and experts gave tips on how to crack similar questions. The rank list of 13,500 participants in the AIEEE model exam in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry was displayed at the venue. S. Balaji from Petit Seminaire School had come second, and Dayaguruvasan of St. Patricks School fourth. A total of 1,060 students from 19 schools in Puducherry, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Karaikal, Neyveli, Chinna Salem, Panruti and Chidambaram had attended the AIEEE model exam, conducted in December.
