CPI Ernakulam meet from tomorrow

Kochi: A conference of the district committee of the Communist Party of India (CPI) will be held from January 14 to 17 here.

At a press conference, district leaders of the party S. Sivasankara Pillai and others said that the banner, flags and torch lights being brought from various historical places would arrive at the Town Hall by 5 p.m. on January 14.

Senior party leader K.C. Prabhakaran would hoist the flag. CPI Central executive member Pannian Ravindran, MP, would inaugurate a seminar on intrusion of monopolists in the retail business sector. Prof. K. Aravandakshan would preside.

The delegate sessions of the meet would be inaugurated by CPI State Secretary Veliyam Bhargavan. Ministers C.Divakaran, Mullakkara Ratnakaran, Benoy Viswom would speak.

District secretary Mundakkayam Sadasivan would present working report and assistant secretary K.K. Asharaf political report. Veteran CPI leaders would be honoured at the function.

A rally would be taken out on January 17 at 3 p.m. from the Kaloor international stadium to the Marine Drive.

A public meeting to be held at the Marine Drive would be addressed by CPI Central Secretariat member C.K. Chandrappan, MP.
