PUDUCHERRY: Two persons travelling on a two-wheeler were waylaid and robbed of their valuables by a five-member gang near Pudukuppam in Villianur on Friday night. According to the Villianur police, S. Hameed and Kandan, both working in a shop near Anna Salai, were proceeding to their village, Nalathoor, near Cuddalore when the gang, that came in a van, intercepted them. After pushing the villagers to the side, the gang took away a cell phone, a gold ring and some cash from them, the police said.
