Two die in accidents

KANNUR: Two people were killed in two separate road accidents near Taliparamba here on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Nallithambi (21) of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu and V.V. Krishnan Nambiar hailing from Pariyaram.

Nallithambi, a construction worker, was one among those in a jeep going to a construction site in Kurumathur in the morning when it collided with a tipper lorry near Karimbam bridge. The injured, including jeep driver Jose (35) from Idukki and Chandran (55), Subair (39), Majeed (50) from the district, Kumar (27) and Vishwanathan (19) from Uduma in Kasaragod, Alakeshan (29), Muthu (45), Kurumavan (22), Govindan (29) and Thamizhmaran (26) from Tiruchirappalli, have been admitted to hospitals. Kirshnan Nambiar was critically injured when he was hit by a KSRTC bus in Pariyaram at around 11 a.m. He succumbed to his injuries later.
