CHENNAI: Those who want to come up in life should emulate actor Rajinikanth, who symbolises hard work, conscientiousness and had the attitude to take others along with him, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi said here on Friday.
There were people who claimed credit for every successful venture. But, Mr. Rajinikanth not only roped in the services of others but also accorded due credit to their efforts, Mr. Karunanidhi told a function to mark the silver jubilee celebration of the Tamil film “Sivaji,” featuring Mr. Rajnikanth as the main cast.
The Chief Minister said he admired the actor’s rise to great heights despite Mr Rajnikanth’s humble beginnings. He said he would remain as a servant of people of the State. Earlier, he gave away mementos to the team that produced the film.
The actor said he planned to do three films, including “Sultan the Warrior” and “Robot.” He praised Shankar, who directed “Sivaji,” and said the film maker had the knack of spotting right people and extracting work from them.
M. Saravanan, film producer, recalled the association the AVM Productions had with Mr. Karunanidhi. Among those who spoke were writer Sujatha, lyricist Vairamuthu and actors Vivek and Shreya.
