Writ appeal in disinvestment case closed
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Friday closed a writ appeal in the Spic disinvestment case, in which the former Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, and two others were acquitted by a Special Court here. A Division Bench, comprising Justices Elipe Dharma Rao and S.R. Singharavelu, closed the matter stating that no direction could be issued to the Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation as it had become a sick company. It also pointed out that a Special Court had acquitted all the accused, and said the trial court order had become final since no appeal had been preferred by the Government.
