KOCHI: Arbitron, an international media and marketing information services firm, has announced opening of a centre here. Arbitron India will operate out of a centre located at Tejomaya, an information technology park of Larsen & Toubro Ltd. It will be developed into a world-class technology and product development centre to support Arbitron’s vision to serve the media and market research industry worldwide, says Steve Morris, its chairman, president and chief executive officer. “Arbitron India will also play a key role in the development of technology and provide operational support for the implementation of our People Portable Meter service which is being installed in the top 50 U.S. radio markets and which technology is being used in other countries worldwide.” “A reason for choosing Kochi as a strategic location for Arbitron is the availability of highly trained talent in Kerala,” says Scott Henry, CIO of Arbitron. “We will be recruiting the best talent available and they will have the opportunity to work on the latest cutting edge technologies. We expect to grow this centre to around 300 professionals in the first two years of operation.”
