Varanasi: The main accused in the last month’s murder of a petrol pump owner, Shambhu Nath Lahiri, in Hathua market has been arrested, the police said. Amit Jaisswal was arrested on Friday evening from Chowkaghat locality here, SP (City) Rajeev Malhotra said, adding on interrogation he accepted his involvement in the murder case. About 10 kg ganja, a country made pistol and cash valuing Rs 10,000 were recovered from his possession, Mr. Malhotra said.
