Protest against DERC

NEW DELHI: A group of traders and residents’ welfare associations staged a protest on the last day of a public hearing conducted by the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission this week, accusing it of "subverting consumer interest over the last five years".

The demonstrators, led by People’s Action and URJA, levelled a series of charges against the manner in which DERC “consistently ignored consumers’ complaints and played along the wishes of the private distribution companies”.
