SCHOOL NOTES
Winners give NIE credit
Anoop Cheriyan, winner of the Revenue District Elocution Competition in English and Visakha K.A., district-level winner in the C.V. Raman Essay Writing Competition, have acknowledged the role of the Newspaper In Education (NIE) programme of The Hindu in honing their skills and helping them emerge victorious in the contests.
Both are students of METEM HSS in Mannarkkad, in Palakkad district, which has the NIE programme.
According to the students, the NIE programme besides boosting their confidence levels, also gave them a considerable edge over others in the contests.
Principal P.C. Sebastian opined that the programme should be extended to the secondary students as well.
