3,600 bogus family cards cancelled

Krishnagiri: A total of 3,600 family cards detected as bogus ones in Krishnagiri district have been cancelled, Collector Santhosh Babu has said.
The district administration had already received a list of such suspected bogus cards.
Specially trained officers had been deputed at block and taluk levels to check these cards and cancel them.
These officials would conduct a door-to-door verification and take action on the basis of the condition of the cards.
The Collector asked cardholders to produce their cards with due entry of gas connections while getting essential commodities.
Some people had taken cards suppressing information on their gas connection to get supply of kerosene at a subsidised rate.
Existing cardholders and new cardholders should register gas connection in their cards.
The district administration would stop the supply of essential commodities to cardholders who suppressed information, the Collector warned.
