ADE posts win

BANGALORE: ADE SC defeated Gautampura SC 2-1 in a State veterans’ football tournament match at the Football Stadium here on Sunday evening.

Jairaj (14th min.) and Arokiaraj (44th min.) scored for the victors while S. Manas (49th min.) scored for Gautampura SC.

Earlier ITI SC and Periyar Nagar SC were locked in a goalless draw.

KEBHS in semifinals

At Dharwad, Last year’s runner-up KE Board’s High School (Dharwad) defeated Basel Mission EMHS ‘B’ (Dharwad) to enter the semifinals of the fifth Kosmos Cup under-17 inter-school cricket tournament here on Sunday.

The scores: BMEMHS ‘B’ (Dharwad) 70 in 16.5 overs (Bharath Talawai two for one, Shreyas Murdeshwar two for 18, Hanumant Mangli two for 21) lost to KE Board’s HS (Dharwad) 74 for no loss in 9.3 overs (Shashank Hulamani 36 not out, Shreyas Murdeshwar 20 not out). Man of the Match: Shreyas Mudreshwar (KEBHS).

Madhusudhan shines

At Mysore, a brace by Madhusudhan (43rd and 66th minutes) and a goal by Deepal (sixth minute) enabled Ashoka FC register its second successive win in the semifinal super league by beating Railway Institute (VV) 3-0 in the MDFA ‘B’ division football league at the University grounds here on Sunday.

Earlier on Saturday, Ashoka FC trounced Town Sports Club (Bannur) 3-0. Deepal (29th & 60th) and Praveen scored for the winner.
