Rajnath for steps to wipe out Pakistan terror camps

Special Correspondent

KOCHI: Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh has urged the Manmohan Singh Government to take the initiative for an international military operation to dismantle the “terrorist training camps” in Pakistan.

He wanted the Centre to take the international community into confidence for a “joint military operation.” He said that his party had long ago warned the Government about the terrorist centres in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Mr. Singh, speaking after opening the BJP’s Kerala Council meeting here on Sunday, pointed out that India’s neighbourhood was highly volatile with internal strife in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Afghanistan. He also wanted the Government to formulate a policy on terrorism after consulting all parties. He claimed that POTA enacted by the Vajpayee government had been very effective, but the present government had scrapped it.
