Overhead tanks to be built

TIRUPUR: The Nallur Grade III Municipality will construct three overhead tanks to ensure proper supply of drinking water evenly to all the residential areas.

Municipal commissioner V. Manickam said the municipal council, which met recently, had received Government permission to construct the tanks.

After the tender process was over, the work would begin in three months, the Commisioner said.

Nalli Shanmugasundaram of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam asked the local body to handover streetlight maintenance to private contractors. Sethupathy of Congress demanded that the Muthanampalayam roadworks be expedited.

Chairperson Vijayalakshmi presided over the meeting.
