PANAJI: The Goa Police on Sunday told The Hindu that medical examination had confirmed the rape of a 32-year-old British woman. The victim complained to Panaji police on Saturday that she was brutally assaulted and raped by an unknown person late on Friday night. Sources in the Town Police said there was no progress in the investigation of the case. The woman, living near Mapusa in north Goa, was returning after attending a concert of classical Indian music in the city. An unknown person offered to give her a lift to Mapusa on his two-wheeler, but assaulted and raped her after taking her to an unknown place.
