New Delhi: There was panic at the historic Red Fort here in the wee hours of Sunday when a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable guarding the monument opened fire in the air, apparently upset at being denied leave. Shranappa Pujari allegedly fired 19 rounds in the air, a senior police official said. No one was injured. CISF spokesperson Vertul Singh said Pujari was suspended after the incident on charges of mishandling his weapon. A statutory court of inquiry has been ordered. — PTI
