Government considering lowering taxes: Sarma

KOCHI: The government is for developing a competitive market and will consider a judicious tax system to help business grow, Minister for Fisheries and Registration S. Sarma has said.

He was speaking at the ninth annual State conference of the Marble and Granite Dealers’ Association here on Sunday.

He said the government would consider the demands of the association. It was considering lowering taxes to help enterprises grow. The government too would benefit with more revenue generated by the growing businesses, he said.

K. Babu, MLA; E.S. Jose, president, Chamber of Commerce; T. Nasrudeen, president, Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi; and K. Thrivikraman, founder of the association; spoke.

Earlier, S.K. Aboobacker Koya, general secretary, welcomed the gathering. Daidan D’Silva, State president, delivered the presidential address.
