Ambali Bharati BANGALORE: Ambali Bharati, a 34-year-old employee of Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam (KBJNL), was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband in Venkatappa Layout in Sanjay Nagar police station limits on Saturday. Bharati, wife of Raju, was working as a typist at KBJNL office at K.R. Circle and the couple stayed in a rented house on the third floor of a building in Sanjay Nagar. Raju worked for a private company on Brigade Road, the police said. On Saturday, Bharati’s neighbours on the second floor heard some screams and later also heard Raju going out. Around 6.30 a.m., a person holding a suitcase came to the neighbours and inquired about the couple as he did not get any response when he tapped on the door. The person also told about drops of blood near the door and went away, the police said. The concerned neighbour then alerted another neighbour staying in the adjoining building. The message was passed on to Kuppuswamy, the owner of the building where the couple were residing. Mr. Kuppuswamy, who was with his daughter in Neyveli in Tamil Nadu, came to the city in the night and lodged a complaint with the police. The police opened the door and found Bharati lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom. The police found stab injuries around her neck, left hand and chest. The police recovered the knife used in the crime and also blood stained clothes said to be of Raju, who is reported to be at large. The Sanjay Nagar police have informed the parents of Bharati and Raju who are living in Bellary and Shiggaon, respectively. The police are yet to ascertain the reasons for the murder. Another murderIn another incident, a group of persons hacked Murali Krishna, 30-year-old councillor of Devanahalli, to death in an open ground in Devanahalli on Sunday. According to the police, Murali Krishna was attacked near the Devanahalli Municipal Council office. The injured Krishna was moved to a private hospital on Bellary Road, where he died. The police suspected that a property dispute could have lead to the murder. The Devanahalli police have launched a search for the assailants.
