LPG cylinders seized

NAMAKKAL: A team of officials seized 18 domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders from automobile workshops in Paramathi Velur on Saturday.
Following complaints that domestic LPG was being used as fuel in cars, the team conducted raids in various parts of Paramathi Velur. They found a few workshops filling up domestic LPG in cars and seized the cylinders. They also seized three motors used to fill the gas.
Officials warned that stern action would be initiated against those who were found using cooking gas for commercial purposes.
Arrested
Police arrested four persons on charges of brewing and selling illicit liquor in Kolli Hills on Saturday.
Police said a team of personnel raided a number of villages and arrested Arapuli (27), Padmini (35), Dhanabagyam (39) and Rajendran (37) for brewing and selling illicit liquor.
