The distinguished award in Hindi writing, “Mangla Prasad Paritoshik” was given to Dr. Vasudev Sharan Agrawal of the Banaras Hindi University for his book Harsh Charit at the annual convocation of the Hindi Sahitya Sammelan in Allahabad on January 12. Dr. Agrawal took Rs.5 only from the prize worth Rs.1,200 and returned the remaining amount to the Sammelan for the propagation of Hindi.
