School annual day celebrations

PUDUCHERRY: Joint Director (Education) R.Vanjulavalli has stressed the importance of educating the children, more particularly, girls.

Speaking on the occasion of the 17th Annual Day of the Sri Sankara Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School on Saturday, she said education had been an important factor to ensure a holistic development of children.

The annual report was presented by Principal N.Mahalakshmi. Trustee of the school M.Ramakrishnan said scholarship and tuition fee concessions were awarded to students who scored above 1,000 marks in the Standard X Board examination if they opted for continuing in the same institution for Standard XI. — Special Correspondent
