LONDON: The Sri Lankan Government has alleged that Tamil groups in Britain are circumventing the ban on the LTTE by raising funds for its violent campaign through front organisations masquerading as charities. According to the Sri Lankan High Commission, one such “bogus” charity, “White Pigeon,” organised a “mega musical show” in London at the weekend at which money was raised for the LTTE. It claimed that “White Pigeon” was set up to replace the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) banned by the British Government after the U.S. Department of Treasury designated it as an LTTE- fundraising front organisation last year.
