Mumbai: Cosmetic surgeon Vijay Sharma was arrested for the second time in as many days for allegedly molesting a 30-year-old housewife who underwent treatment at his clinic here, police said. Dr. Sharma was apprehended on Sunday evening soon after being granted bail by a court in a separate case of alleged molestation of a 20-year-old television news channel reporter. “We arrested Sharma after the woman filed a case against him following today’s media reports about the complaint lodged by the reporter. She has stated that she was molested three times by the doctor who also sent her lewd SMS,” a police officer told PTI. The reporter was allegedly molested when she went to interview Dr. Sharma at his clinic in suburban Khar. Dr. Sharma’s family claimed he was being framed. “He has been a surgeon since 1987 and has operated on several TV and film stars. His name is in the Limca Book of Records for the most number of plastic surgeries in India and he was also presented the best cosmetic surgeon in Asia Award in 2000,” the surgeon’s daughter Neha said. — PTI
