Sops for industrialists promoting handicrafts

Special Correspondent

JAIPUR: The Western Rajasthan Handicraft Fair-2008 ended in Jodhpur on Monday with the State Government pledging its support to entrepreneurs willing to promote the handicraft sector by helping out artisans and crafts persons.

Industries Minister Digambar Singh told the valedictory function that an investment of Rs.62,000 crore was likely to be made in various sectors in the State after the recent Resurgent Rajasthan Summit. He assured the entrepreneurs that reserve prices in the industrial areas would not be revised.

Mr. Singh said the State Government would extend its support to industrialists promoting handicraft products in and around Jodhpur. Assistance would also be given to the entrepreneurs making investments in Rajasthan, he added, and expressed the hope that power crisis in the State would be resolved soon.
