What they say

K.N.Nehru

K.N. Nehru, Transport Minister:

The response we have been receiving after the launch of more services and routes has been very encouraging. In fact, hundreds of commuters have written to us, thanking us for the initiative. Of the nearly 2,000 petitions we received last year, about 400 were requests for additional routes. This prompted us to expand our coverage. The Department has received a sum of Rs.3.5 crore for the renovation of bus depots that are in poor condition. Work will begin in another two months. We realise the need for better supervision to further improve the quality of service and therefore, 200 additional personnel have been promoted to supervise the functioning of buses.
