Host of offers from BSNL for pre-paid cellphone customers

MADURAI: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BNSL) has introduced a host of attractive offers in its pre-paid mobile phone service, including additional talk time, facility to carry forward validity period, new pre-paid card with seven year free incoming.

“We are also fulfilling the expectations of our customers,” its Madurai General Manager, M.K. Sudarsanam, said. The most attractive among them is the enhanced talk time. The talktime for recharge coupons with a face value of Rs.200 has been increased from Rs.60 to Rs.130. “This is more than double”, Mr. Sudarsanam said.

Stating that the BSNL was planning for a new roll out, as necessary equipment were expected to arrive soon, the General Manager said pre-paid cards were available in adequate numbers.

“As a loyalty bonus, we have been issuing free pre-paid cards to our post-paid mobile customers and those who have been using our landline for more than five years,” he added.

Another attractive feature is introduction of validity period carrying forward facility.

“This will give the customers the freedom to recharge their mobile accounts at their will, without having to forgo their validity period. However, the maximum number of days that could be accumulated is 450,” he added.

Other new schemes

Among other new schemes are introduction of a pre-paid card with a validity of seven years.

The card with a sale price of Rs.249 comes with a talktime for Rs. 30. Customers need to only top up the cards according to their use, Mr. Sudarsanam said.

For the high-calling customers, a new post-paid scheme, Plan 999. For a monthly fixed charge of Rs.999, the customer could make free calls worth Rs.700.

Festival offer

As a festival offer, activation charge of Rs.100 has been waived for three months. Customers from other plans could migrate to this plan.
