High Court moved for anticipatory bail

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Two senior officials of a software company have moved the Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with a complaint of sexual harassment lodged against them by a woman employee of the company.

The present petition was filed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and senior vice-president of the company after the Principal District and Sessions Court here declined to grant them anticipatory bail in the case, registered by the Pondy Bazaar police here.

Justice T. Sudanthiram, before whom the anticipatory bail pleas came up for hearing, has adjourned the matter to January 31 for further proceedings. Acting on a complaint from the woman, police had filed a case against the senior officials of the company for criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal intimidation of the IPC, besides offences under the Harassment of Women Act.
