Chennai: Globe Trotters’s off-spinner Aashish Kapoor scalped six wickets to help his side beat Eagle by 176 runs on the final day of their TNCA first division cricket league match at the MRF Pach ‘A’ ground here on Monday. Eagle needed to score 246 for a win, but was bundled out by Kapoor and left-arm spinner K.R. Sivaprakash (four for 46) for 69. Kapoor returned match-figures of 11 for 97. Easy for VijayAt SRMC, Vijay registered a 10-wicket win over Indian Bank. L. Suryaprakash made 60 for Indian Bank, but it wasn’t enough as Vijay was left needing just eight runs for a win. At ICL-Gurunanak, Parry denied Grand Slam an outright win. Grand Slam enforced the follow-on, after which Parry finished at 153 for nine. At Railway Ground, an unbroken 50-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Adithya Ganesh, who made an unbeaten 52, and S.R. Ganesh Kumar, who finished with an unbeaten 25, ensured Aruna drew its match with Alwarpet. Alwarpet declared its second innings at 242 for seven with V. Subramania Siva scoring a century. Big lead for IOBAT MAC, IOB declared with a lead of 285 against Young Stars when play was called off at tea. At IIT-Chemplast, N. Ajay Kudua and T. Dhanasekar put on 107 runs for the sixth wicket to rescue Jolly Rovers from 67 for five to 222 for eight declared. Ajay scored a 171-ball century to steer Jolly out of danger. Off-spinner M. Prabhu picked up five wickets for 79 runs for India Pistons and finished with match-figures of 10 for 176. India Pistons batted out 41 overs for a draw. The scores: At SRMC: Indian Bank 163 and 167 in 53.1 overs (L. Suryaprakash 60) lost to Vijay 324 for eight decl. and eight for no loss in 0.5 overs. Vijay: 8 points, Indian Bank: 0. At MAC: IOB 206 and 245 for three decl. in 79 overs (R. Prashanth 45, Y. Gnaneshwara Rao 85, R. Rajesh Kanna 40 not out) drew with Young Stars 166. IOB: 5, Young Stars: 2. At MRF Pach ‘A’: Globe Trotters 267 and 160 for seven decl. in 32.4 overs (U. Sushil 45 not out, S. Senthil Kumar four for 30) bt Eagle 182 and 69 in 29.5 overs (Aashish Kapoor six for 21, K.R.
